IAFF Resolution Two Step

Not Either, But Both

Rube Goldberg is alive and well at the IAFF.

For those considering the submission of a resolution to the IAFF Convention, they have instituted a requirement that can only be aimed at making the process both confusing and difficult.

Emailing has allowed all of us to reduce the use of paper and to conduct business more quickly and effectively.

Not at the IAFF.

Folks must have an electronic version sent in by May 23rd and the final signed resolution in the office by June 4th.

You must do both or you are out of the game.

There is no legitimate, logical or supportable reason to require an emailed version if a paper copy is being sent by mail.

Submit a resolution by fax or email; the signed original resolution must be received by 5:00 pm EDT on June 4, 2014. The email is gst@iaff.org; send faxes to 202-637-0840 or 202-737-8418. The mailing address is Office of the GST, International Association of Fire Fighters, 1750 New York Ave, NW, WDC, 20006.

What is the purpose of this article? To show that the IAFF has a process and someone obviously wasn’t smart enough to follow said process. Now this person is bitter and writes a childish column? Come on. There is an article on professionalism. You should read it. You don’t like the IAFF. We got the message. JEMS is not the professional magazine I thought it was. Got it.
